THE MANNER OF LIFE – The Peace of God
This morning as we continue the series in Philippians, we will look at a word that is truly a gift from God. That word is “PEACE”. Paul will talk about having the peace that passes all understanding and comprehension.
To have the peace of God is to have the God of peace in your life. It is to not live in fear, anxiety, or strife. True peace is not found in positive thinking, the absence of conflict, or in good feelings. Instead, it comes from trusting in God to work everything out in a way that is best for you. When we trust God, He gives us a peaceful perspective in regards to life and the challenges we will face.
With that in mind, please recall the five trust statements about God that I taught a few months ago:
- God is trustworthy and worthy of our complete confidence.
- God loves you.
- God cares about me.
- God’s care is constant.
- God wants to do you good. He don’t want to do you bad.
This morning, we will talk about a deep understanding of peace. Do you feel at peace within yourself and some issues within your world? What is it that robs you of peace? To have the peace of God that passes all understanding is truly a confirmation of the presence of God within your life. May this teaching on peace touch so many of you this morning.
Encouraging One Another,
Pastor Mike

Final Exhortations
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
