STRENGHTHENING TODAY’S FAMILY – MY CHILD IS JUST LIKE ME

This morning, we continue our series on Strengthening Today’s Family. In any family, the primary method that children use to learn is imitation. That is what is meant when it is said that behavior is “caught,” not necessarily “taught.” Young people closely follow the actions and reactions of their parents and often times use them as excuses to justify their own behavior, saying things such as, “my mom and dad do that.”

The Bible is not silent on this issue. It consistently urges behavior that is worthy of imitation. As we study this issue, may we see the need to be aware of the imitations we are creating within our families. Enjoy this morning’s worship service and message.

Encouraging One Another,

Pastor Mike

Key Scripture: Matthew 5:13-16

Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
