What Will You Do With Jesus?
Pastor Patrick Mesisca   -

This Sunday, we continue our Encounters with Jesus series by looking at one of the most intense exchanges in Scripture — Jesus’ encounter with Pontius Pilate (John 18:28–19:16). Pilate stood face to face with the Son of God, asking one of the most profound questions ever spoken: “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” (Matthew 27:22).

It’s a question every person must answer. Pilate knew Jesus was innocent, yet fear, pressure, and political ambition led him to wash his hands of responsibility. In doing so, he symbolically tried to remain neutral — but neutrality toward Christ is impossible. To do nothing with Jesus is to reject Him.

As followers of Christ, we’re called to respond differently. Rather than distancing ourselves or remaining silent, we’re invited to surrender to Jesus fully and defend Him boldly. Surrender means allowing Christ to reign over every area of our lives — our choices, our time, and our hearts. Defending Jesus means standing for truth in a world that often denies it, speaking His name with love and conviction, even when it’s unpopular or inconvenient.

This week, let’s reflect personally: What will I do with Jesus today? Will I surrender my will to His will? Will I speak up for Him when others stay quiet? Let us be disciples who not only acknowledge Jesus as Lord with our words but prove it through our lives.

In Christ’s grace,

Pastor Patrick
