Walking on Water
Today, we dive into the miracle of Jesus walking on water in John 6:16-21. As the disciples struggled in their boat amidst the storm, Jesus came to them, walking on the Sea of Galilee. When He got into the boat, immediately it reached the shore. This miracle not only demonstrates Jesus’ divine power but also His profound care and presence in our greatest times of need.
This morning is also Communion Sunday! As we prepare to share the Lord’s Supper together, we will be reminded how Jesus used His time on the other side of the Sea of Galilee (opposite of the miracle of fish and loaves) to teach the people about how He is the true bread of life. Though many mocked Him for His teachings, we are reminded that God cannot be mocked. In a world that takes great pleasure in mocking Jesus Christ, we can rest assured that He is not mocked but eternally elevated as the True Bread of Life, King of kings and Lord of lords. As we share in communion, let us celebrate the eternal life we have in Jesus, our True Bread of Life.
