Walk in Love
Officeonehope   -

As we celebrate Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, 2026, our nation pauses to give thanks for 250 years of freedom. From the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 until today, Americans have enjoyed remarkable liberties secured through the sacrifice, courage, and perseverance of those who came before us. We are grateful for the blessings of living in a nation founded on the principles of liberty and the God-given dignity of every person. As Christians, we should never take these freedoms for granted, but instead pray for our nation, honor those who have served, and seek God’s continued blessing upon America.

As wonderful as political freedom is, the Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 5:1–20 that there is an even greater freedom found in Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, we have been set free from the bondage of sin to live a new life that reflects the character of our Savior. Paul calls believers to “walk in love,” to reject the darkness of this world, and to “walk as children of light” with wisdom, gratitude, and dependence upon the Holy Spirit. The Christian life is not merely about avoiding sin, but about living in the joyful freedom of becoming more like Christ every day.

This week, may we celebrate the freedoms we cherish as Americans and the eternal freedom we possess as citizens of God’s Kingdom. Let us be people whose lives are marked by sacrificial love, holy living, thankful hearts, and Spirit-filled worship. May God continue to bless the United States of America, and may He use His church to shine brightly in a world that desperately needs the hope of the Gospel.

Please join us on Saturday, July 4, at 5:00 p.m. for an evening of food, fellowship, and fireworks as we celebrate 250 years of freedom in the United States of America. Please bring a shareable side or dessert.

In our celebration of freedom,

Pastor Patrick
