The Sheep, The Gate, The Shepherd
Officeonehope   -

As we prepare our hearts for Passion Week to start next Sunday, we are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 10:11, where He declares, “I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” These words not only reveal Jesus’ deep love and care for us, but they also foreshadow the ultimate act of sacrifice and foundation for hope—His death on the cross and His victorious resurrection.
In this passage, Jesus describes Himself in three ways: as the Shepherd who calls His sheep, the Gate through which we find salvation, and the One who lays down His life for His flock. As we reflect on these images, they serve as a powerful reminder that the road to the cross was not an accident—it was the plan of a loving Shepherd who willingly gave His life so that we might have eternal life.
Next Sunday, as we also celebrate baptisms, we will witness a beautiful picture of people declaring their faith in Christ through their public display of baptism and testimony to their conviction that Jesus died for them, was buried, and resurrected from the dead. It is a reminder to us all that Jesus is calling His sheep, and His voice is still speaking today.
As we approach this sacred season, may we take time to listen to the voice of our Shepherd, walk through the Gate of salvation, and follow Him wherever He leads. May we unite in one voice reciting the words of Psalm 23:1-4 as we take one more step towards Passion Week.

In His Service,

Pastor Patrick
