The Price Tag
Following Jesus is the greatest decision we can ever make-but it’s not without cost. While our salvation is a free gift to us paid in full by the blood of Jesus Himself – following Jesus can often come at a cost.
In Luke 14:25-33, Jesus calls us to count the cost before we commit. He compares discipleship to building a tower or going to war – both require careful calculation, total investment, and full surrender.
Jesus doesn’t ask for a portion of our lives. He calls us to lay everything down – to completely surrender our plans, possessions, and priorities. He asks for every aspect of our lives. But for whatever we lose for following Christ, what we gain in return is far greater: we gain Christ Himself.
This week, take time to reflect: Are you holding on to anything tighter than Jesus Christ Himself? True discipleship costs everything, but it also gives us everything that truly matters.
