The Law and The Promise
As we continue our journey through the book of Galatians, we arrive this morning in Galatians 3:15–24 where Paul reminds us of a powerful truth: God’s promise is unchanging, and our hope is secure in Christ. Long before the Law was given, God made a covenant promise to Abraham—a promise fulfilled not through human effort, but through Jesus Christ.
The Law was never meant to replace God’s promise or become a way of salvation. Instead, it was given to reveal sin and show us our need for a Savior. The Law is like a mirror—it can expose what is wrong, but it cannot heal. Only Jesus Christ can save!
Paul teaches that the Law served as a guardian, guiding us until Jesus came. Its purpose was always to lead us to faith, not to self-reliance.
So be encouraged today: your standing with God is not based on striving or achieving on your own merit but on trusting and submitting to Christ. God’s promise still stands, Jesus has fulfilled the Law, and grace is freely given through faith.
With hope in Christ,
Pastor Patrick
