The Armor of God
As we conclude our study of Ephesians, Paul reminds us of a truth we must never forget: we are engaged in spiritual warfare. Every Christian will face moments of temptation, discouragement, trials, and opposition. The enemy seeks to weaken our faith and distract us from faithfully following Christ, but God has not left us unprepared. He calls us to “be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might” and to put on the full armor of God so that we may stand firm when the difficult days come.
The armor of God reminds us that our hope and strength are found in Christ alone. We stand with truth because God’s Word is our foundation. We stand with righteousness because Christ has covered us with His grace. We stand with faith because God’s promises never fail. Through prayer and dependence upon the Lord, we are equipped to face every challenge, knowing that we do not fight our battles in our own strength. The same God who saved us is the God who sustains us.
My prayer for One Hope is that we would be a people who are spiritually prepared, prayerfully dependent, and faithfully committed to Christ. May we encourage one another, lift one another up, and stand together as the body of Christ. The battles we face are real (even if what we battle is unseen by our physical eyes), but our Savior is greater than every attack of the enemy. Let us put on the full armor of God each day and continue standing firm in the victory that belongs to Jesus Christ.
Standing firm with you in His mighty power,
Pastor Patrick
