Thanksgiving and Prayer
As we begin our new series through the book of Philippians, we begin with a beautiful reminder about the importance of thanksgiving and prayer.
In Philippians 1:1–11, Paul expresses his deep gratitude for the believers in Philippi and reminds them that God is still working in their lives. His words are encouraging because they point us away from our circumstances and back to the One who is faithful. Paul says, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6).
What a promise for us today! God is not finished with us. He is continually shaping us, growing our faith, and teaching us to love Him and one another more deeply.
As we journey through Philippians together, my prayer is that we will become a congregation marked by joy, gratitude, unity, and a deeper love for Christ. May we learn to give thanks not only when life is going well, but in every circumstance, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot yet see what He is doing.
As we begin this study, let us follow Paul’s example: give thanks for one another, pray for one another, and trust God to continue the good work He has begun in each of us.
