Faithful When It’s Hard
As we celebrate Mother’s Day today, we pause to honor the incredible women – mothers, grandmothers, mentors, and spiritual mothers – who have shaped our lives with love, strength, and faith. This morning, we reflect on the powerful story of the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4:8 – 37. In the face of deep loss and heartache, she remained faithful, resolute, and hopeful. Her trust in God didn’t waver when circumstances turned dark; instead she clung to the promise of life even when death seemed to have the final word. Her story is a testament to what it means to stay faithful when it’s hard.
To every woman walking through a difficult season – whether in motherhood, marriage, family, or faith – know this: God sees your perseverance. He honors your faith, even in the silence. Your quiet strength and enduring hope are a light to those around you and a sweet fragrance to the Lord.
May the Shunammite woman remind us all that faith doesn’t deny reality – it declares that God is still at work in the midst if it. Keep going. Keep trusting. And stay faithful becausue God is faithful, even when life is hard!
