Christmas Eve Service: Simeon & Anna
Officeonehope   -

On the day Mary and Joseph brought the infant Jesus to the temple, two faithful servants were waiting—Simeon and Anna. They had waited a long time. Simeon had been promised by God that he would not die before seeing the Messiah, and Anna had spent decades worshiping, fasting, and praying, longing for God’s redemption. That ordinary day in the temple became extraordinary, because God kept His word.

When Simeon took Jesus in his arms, he wasn’t just holding a baby—he was holding the fulfillment of centuries of promises. Every prophecy, every hope, every whispered prayer for deliverance found its “yes” in Christ. Anna, upon seeing Him, began to speak of Jesus to all who were waiting for redemption, rejoicing that God’s long-awaited promise had finally arrived.

This encounter reminds us that Christmas is not sentimental nostalgia; it is the celebration of God’s faithfulness. What He promised, He fulfilled. What He spoke through the prophets, He accomplished in His Son. And just as God was faithful to Simeon and Anna, He is faithful to us. We can trust that the God who kept His promise to send the Messiah will keep every promise He has made to His people.

This Christmas Eve, as we encounter Jesus anew, may our hearts rest in the unshakable truth: God is faithful—always, fully, and forever.
