Christ’s Example of Humility
Officeonehope   -

One of the greatest challenges of following Christ is learning to put others before ourselves. Philippians 2:1–11 reminds us that Christian humility is not merely an attitude, but a way of life modeled perfectly by Jesus.

Paul challenges us to “do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit” but to “value others above yourselves” (Philippians 2:3). Then he points us to Christ, who willingly humbled Himself, taking “the very nature of a servant” and becoming obedient even to death on a cross (Philippians 2:7–8).

Jesus was willing to lay aside His position, serve others, and ultimately give His life for us. If we want to know what humility looks like, we simply need to look at Him. That is why Paul says, “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).

This week, let’s look for opportunities to live that out: put someone else first, serve someone who needs encouragement, forgive freely, and choose humility over pride.

May our church be known not only for what we believe about Jesus, but for how closely we resemble Jesus.

Your servant in Christ,

Pastor Patrick
