ATHERTON: Missionary Update
Officeonehope   -

This morning, we are honored to welcome our own Brett Meredith as he shares a missionary update from Atherton Baptist Homes. Founded in 1914, Atherton is a licensed, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), also known as a Life Plan Community, because they provide independent living, in-home care, assisted living, skilled nursing, short-term rehab, and hospice services to meet the changing needs of people as they age.
Scripture reminds us of the importance of caring for those who have come before us. “Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent” (Psalm 71:9). Atherton lives out this calling every day, offering housing, health services, and spiritual care in a nurturing environment.
As a church, we are privileged to partner with Atherton through prayer and financial support. Paul commends the church in Philippi for their generosity, writing: “Yet it was kind of you to share in my trouble… not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit” (Philippians 4:14, 17). Likewise, our partnership with Atherton is an investment in the Kingdom and a reflection of our commitment to honor and support those who have served faithfully.
Let us be encouraged today by the work God is doing through Atherton Baptist Homes and consider how we, as a church, can continue to uphold this vital ministry.
In His Service,
Pastor Patrick
