Love That Speaks
One of the greatest evidences of the gospel is not simply what we believe, but how we love one another. This Sunday we begin a new three-week series through the short New Testament letter of Philemon. Though it is only one chapter long, Philemon reveals the incredible power of Christ to transform relationships. The gospel doesn’t just change our eternal destination but also the way we treat one another every day.
This week we will focus on Philemon 1:1–7, where Paul celebrates a believer whose love and faith have refreshed the hearts of God’s people. Before Paul ever addresses the difficult situation in the letter, he reminds Philemon that a life shaped by Christ is already making a difference in others. It’s a beautiful picture of a church where love is visible, encouragement is abundant, and relationships reflect the grace we have received.
As we move toward Testimony Sunday on August 30, I encourage you to consider how God has transformed your own relationships. Whose life have you refreshed? Who has refreshed yours? My prayer is that this series will remind us that the gospel is heard most clearly when it is lived out through love that speaks.
