Prayer for Spiritual Strength
As I reflect on Paul’s prayer for the Ephesian church in Ephesians 3:14–21, I am reminded of my continual prayer for each of you. Paul prayed that believers would be strengthened with power through God’s Spirit in their inner being so that Christ would dwell richly in their hearts through faith. In the same way, my vision for One Hope is to see strong, mature Christians who are deeply rooted in Christ, grow in faith, and become battle-tested disciples. We know that when real trials and tribulations come into our lives, many of the fiercest battles are the spiritual ones. We need God’s strength to continue the fight, and we fight best when we unite together on our knees in prayer.
Paul also prayed that the Ephesian believers would grasp the immeasurable love of Christ and be filled with all the fullness of God. This is my prayer for our church as well. We need strength for Christ to rule in our hearts, strength to comprehend the depth and breadth of His love, and strength to remain faithful when challenges arise. As we grow in our understanding of who Christ is and what He has done for us, we become equipped to endure hardship, encourage one another, and stand firm in the faith.
Finally, Paul ended his prayer by pointing the church to God’s power and glory. The same God who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine is still at work today. The tests and trials of today often become the testimonies of tomorrow. Let us unite in this journey together and continue seeking the Lord with confidence and hope. As we do, I look forward to seeing how God uses One Hope Church in our lives, our families, and our community to write the next chapters of His story for His glory.
In Christ,
Pastor Patrick
