The Power of Prayer: Gratitude, Growth & God’s Power
Officeonehope   -

This morning, we pause not only to celebrate our mothers, but to reflect on one of the greatest gifts many of us have received from them—their prayers.

In Ephesians 1:15–23, Paul expresses his gratitude for the believers and tells them that he never stops giving thanks for them, remembering them in his prayers. He prays that they would know God more, that their hearts would be enlightened, and that they would experience the immeasurable greatness of His power. That passage reminds us that prayer is not passive—it is powerful, personal, and transformational.

Today, many of us are living answers to a mother’s prayers. So today presents a perfect opportunity to express our gratitude for the mothers and spiritual motherly figures who have faithfully prayed, loved, and pointed us to Christ. Also, we acknowledge God’s blessing to continue that legacy. Whether you are a mother, a father, or simply someone who loves others well, you have the opportunity to pray with boldness and expectation over the next generation, as many who came before us faithfully prayed over us.

May we be a church marked by gratitude and strengthened by prayer.

Happy Mother’s Day,

Pastor Patrick
