A Call to Love in Action
This Sunday, we are blessed to hear from our very own Children’s Ministry Director, Lucas DeGraaf. Lucas is currently a Theology student at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa and has been faithfully serving part-time with our youth as well. We are thrilled that upon his graduation this May, he will be joining us full-time in the important role of One Hope’s Next Gen Pastor.
Lucas previously served in children’s ministry at One and All Church in San Dimas, and since joining One Hope, he has made incredible connections with our young people. It has been especially encouraging to see his impact, as he recently had the joy of baptizing two of our youth on Palm Sunday—a powerful testimony to the work God is doing through his ministry.
This morning, Lucas will be sharing from the timeless parable of the Good Samaritan. It is a much-needed reminder that love is not just something we feel, but something we do. True, Christ-like love is demonstrated through action, compassion, and sacrifice. May we all be challenged to love others the way the Samaritan did—crossing boundaries, meeting needs, and reflecting the heart of Christ.
I look forward to being back with you next Sunday as we begin an in-depth exegetical and expository study through the book of Ephesians. It will be a rich time of growing deeper in our understanding of who we are in Christ and how we are called to live as His church.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Pastor Patrick
