Laughing with the Divine
As we prepare for the Laughter for Literacy event this evening, we will explore the beautiful and often surprising ways that humor, with its unexpected twists, reflects the deeper truths of our faith. Just as a good joke catches us off guard with a punchline, many of the stories in the Bible reveal God’s wisdom through unexpected turns and divine irony. From Balaam’s talking donkey to the story of Jonah, we see that God often uses humor and surprise to teach us profound lessons about His love and our journey with Him.
These twists in humor mirror the twists we experience in life—moments where things don’t go as planned, but where God’s hand is still at work, often in the most surprising ways. Let us embrace these moments, knowing that even in life’s unexpected turns, God’s purpose and joy are present.

This special gathering is not only a time to share in laughter but also to raise awareness and support for GTi Hope, as we work together to empower women and bring families to an understanding of and personal relationship with Jesus Christ through literacy in India.
